Sarah Alam, MA International Affairs ’18, was awarded a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to study Bangla in Kolkata, India this summer.

Awarded from the department's Critical Languages Scholarship program, the competitive study abroad award will place Josephine Chaet, of Chicago (Portage Park/Irving Park); Maria Folvarska, of Itasca, Illinois; and Amreen Matharu, of Vernon Hills, Illinois, in a fully funded eight-week language program that includes cultural enrichment experiences.
