Literary Arts Collection in Indonesian

Similar to many others, Alden DiCamillo’s (Indonesian 2019) project changed from its original proposal for an in-person poetry reading to an online collection due to the pandemic. Alden focused on imagining life in the future and curated a collection of stories, poetry and other artwork, translated into Indonesian and English, submitted by contributors from Indonesia and the U.S. Following submission by further artists, Alden plans to publish and print the collection.

“What I found through this project is that imagination produces beautiful, fluid realities that reveal tangible solutions and paths forward to current, more stringent realities and narratives. I wanted this to be about present manifestations of what we hoped the future could be. This kind of thinking sparks community; it keeps us safe.”
