The university announced Monday that Colin Lopez (CLS Arabic 2016), of Lancaster Pennsylvania, has been chosen for the prestigious scholarship, which sends students to Tsinghua University in Beijing for a year of study and cultural immersion.

Adam LoBue, Ph.D. student in history, received The Critical Language scholarship in 2017. Focusing on Swahili, his primary research language, LoBue spent the summer in Arusha, Tanzania. He learned the language and immersed himself in the culture as a historian of East Africa.
