Program Overview

The 2022 CLS Program in Ibri, Oman will be held as a virtual institute. The CLS Program’s virtual programming comprises approximately 20 hours of language activities per week, including:

• 10 hours of face-to-face (synchronous) small group class
• 10-15 hours of synchronous and asynchronous activities:
  • Individual feedback sessions with instructors
  • Asynchronous instruction, such as reviewing video recordings
  • Cultural activities
  • Individual and group homework assignments
  • Directed independent study
  • Regular meetings with a language partner for conversation practice

The Arabic institute in Ibri is hosted by the Noor Majan Training Institute. The Noor Majan Training Institute has been hosting CLS Scholars in Oman since 2013. It was founded to serve the ideals of mutual understanding and life-long learning in an international context through the teaching of different languages and by giving insight into Oman’s unique culture.
