Alumni Ambassador

Grace Enz

Grace Enz participated in the 2025 CLS Swahili Program hosted by the MS-Training Centre for Development Cooperation in Arusha, Tanzania. Grace graduated from Carleton College with a B.A. in History and minors in Africana Studies and Arabic. She is currently serving as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Morocco, teaching English at the university level. After her Fulbright grant, she hopes to return to East Africa to promote education access through the Peace Corps.

"CLS provided me the transformative opportunity to use Swahili every day, from my dala dala ride to class in the morning to watching TV with my host mom in the evening. Because my university does not offer Swahili, CLS was an unparalleled experience that helped me gain a solid foundation in the language and form close connections with my host family and language partners. CLS is a unique program that allows you to intensely study a language, participate in meaningful cultural exchanges, and forge authentic friendships."
