Andromeda Yahoudy-Macner participated in the 2025 CLS Portuguese Program hosted by the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Andromeda graduated from Tulane University with a B.S. in Neuroscience and plans to pursue an M.S. in Translational Medicine before applying to medical school. Andromeda’s goal is to become a physician who prioritizes patient-centered care and recognizes language proficiency as an important component of effective communication in healthcare. Her academic and professional interests center on bridging gaps in patient understanding and improving health outcomes through culturally and linguistically informed medicine.
"During my CLS Program, I was able to reconnect with friends from previous stays, build new relationships, and once again experience life in Rio de Janeiro. The language instruction I received through CLS was the most effective Portuguese training I have had."
