We are delighted to announce the 2023 CLS Program application is OPEN!

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce that the application for the U.S. Department of State’s 2023 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is now open! We welcome your students to apply now to study a critical language next summer on a fully funded overseas or virtual language program.

The application is available online at: https://clscholarship.org/apply

Applications are due Tuesday, November 15, 2022, by 8:00 PM ET/5 PM PT

As we shared in our email on Tuesday, we have created a host of resources to assist as you advise students, I have included them again here. You can also find them under advisor resources on our website.

The CLS Program will host frequent webinars, Q&A sessions, and alumni panels for students and advisors over the next few weeks. We encourage advisors to share these opportunities with their students. By providing frequent webinars, we hope to accommodate a variety of campus and individual student schedules. A full calendar of events and corresponding registration links is available on our web site: https://clscholarship.org/events

We also invite you to attend CLS advisor office hours tomorrow at 1 PM ET to ask us any questions. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist you and your students.

Sincerely,

Caitlin Ting
