The application for the summer 2022 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program will close in just over two weeks on Tuesday, November 16 at 8:00pm Eastern Time. We welcome your students to apply now to learn a critical foreign language next summer on a fully-funded study abroad program.

The application is now live and available online at:  https://www.clscholarship.org/apply

As a Principal Advisor, you can log in to view the list of students who have opened applications from your campus by logging in to the advisor portal located at https://ais.americancouncils.org/start

If you need to reset your password, you will need to do so using the email address associated with your account, not your username.

We encourage you to reach out to these students to offer your assistance with their applications and to remind them of the upcoming application deadline. Email templates are available on our web site to assist you in reaching out to your students: https://clscholarship.org/advisors/advisor-resources/email-templates

I will be available from 2:00-3:00pm on each of the remaining three Fridays of our open application season to answer advisor questions in an open Zoom meeting for advisors. Please feel free to drop in to discuss any advising inquiries and to connect with other advisors from our network! Registration for these meetings is open here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwoduyhpzwrE9KLZhFpoZnAkTCogXl6Nl12

We have hosted a number of information sessions and alumni panels this fall, including sessions specific to our 15 separate language programs and a session for beginners who may not know where to begin when selecting a language for their application. Recordings of these webinars are available here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc6m86vaPU3ajuH8dVPacok5ZwlmZjv2F

We still have a number of upcoming live information and Q&A sessions that are open to both students and advisors: https://clscholarship.org/events

As always, we are grateful for your work to share this opportunity across your campus and help students get their applications in before the deadline!

If you’re interested in evaluating applications for the CLS Program this fall, the form to express interest is still open: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/65JT8RV

Please be in touch if you have any questions.

Best wishes,

Natalie Spencer
