Thank you for your support!

Dear Colleague,

We have exciting news this Monday! With the help of our community of advisors and other dedicated readers, we have completed the first round of the 2023 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program review process and are preparing to notify overseas applicants tomorrow, January 24. We will also be notifying CLS Spark applicants that their applications are now under review and that we will send out finalist notifications in mid-March.

Notification emails will be sent to the primary email address listed on each student’s application. If you have a student who is waiting to hear back later in the day, please encourage them to check their spam filters and wait 24 hours (i.e., until Wednesday morning) before reaching out to the CLS Program team. (Sending out 5000+ emails is not exactly a quick task!) If they still do not see an email at that time, they should email cls@americancouncils.org to confirm what email address we have on file. Please note that we are unable to provide feedback on any individual application or group of applications.

The second round of the selection process for the overseas program is now underway and we will send out final notifications to current semifinalists in early March.

Thank you for the work you do year-round to support students in applying for the CLS Program. Please be in touch if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Caitlin Ting
