Statuses now live in advisor portal

I hope this message finds you well! We have just completed notifying finalists and alternates for the 2022 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program, a program of the U.S. Department of State.

Notification emails are sent to the primary email address listed on each student’s application. If you have students who are waiting to hear back and have not yet seen their notification email, please encourage them to check their spam filters. If they still do not see a notification from us, they should email cls@americancouncils.org to confirm their email address for the message.

As a principal advisor, you can now log in to see the selection status for each of your applicants in our advisor portal located at https://ais.americancouncils.org/start

If you need to reset your password, you will need to do so using the email address associated with your account, not your username.

Due to the current health and safety situation, some CLS institutes for summer 2022 will be offered as virtual programs while others will be offered through programming abroad. Finalists will receive more information about placement in their notification messages.

While we are pleased to be offering in-person institutes for some languages, the U.S. Department of State, American Councils, and CLS Program staff cannot guarantee that the programs will take place as planned. We view the health and well-being of our program participants as our top priority. The CLS Program reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel a CLS institute in any location for any reason, including for the health and safety of our participants.

We thank you for the role you’ve played in supporting these applicants throughout the year!

Best wishes,

Natalie Spencer
