Good morning,

I hope this message finds you well! If our last email reached you at a busy time, we wanted to remind you that we are still accepting volunteers for this year’s Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program selection process. Your expertise as a CLS advisor would be a valuable addition to our selection process and would greatly support students passionate about language and cultural exchange.

Evaluators will serve in either the first or second round, with different timeframes and commitment levels:

  • First-Round Evaluators: Review 30-50 applications (15-20 minutes per application) over late November to December 2024, totaling about 8-10 hours.
  • Second-Round Evaluators: Review 20-65 applications (15-20 minutes per application) and join a full-day virtual panel. Applications will be read and scored in January, with virtual panels scheduled for:
    • January 27-31, 2025 (CLS Spark)
    • February 3-7, 2025 (CLS overseas institutes)

For more information or to volunteer, please visit the evaluator interest form: https://ais.americancouncils.org/event/clsevaluatorinterest.

Thank you for considering this opportunity! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Caitlin
