Good morning!
Apologies if you have already received this email. I am writing to share that the recording link for the CLS Pre-Launch Webinar is now available: https://youtu.be/m3b2JPvSWuA. Please note that this information is intended for advisors only, so we kindly ask that you refrain from sharing the recording with students.
Some key highlights from the webinar include:
- The application for the 2025 CLS Program opens in early October and closes on November 19, 2024.
- Azerbaijani is no longer being offered.
- CLS Spark is expanding to include Japanese and Korean at the beginner level, as well as Japanese at the advanced beginner level.
- Preference is now given to Spark applicants from campuses that do not offer their Spark language.
- Applicants will self-certify whether their Spark language is offered at their institution and can provide additional context (e.g., the language is only offered once a year or only to language majors). Upon submitting the application, applicants will be required to confirm that their responses are accurate to the best of their knowledge.
- There are no major changes to any of the essays.
- Letters of recommendation and language evaluations are not required and will not be accepted as supplemental materials. Institutional endorsement is also not required.
- Advisor resources are being updated and will be available online by early October.
We hope you find these updates helpful as we gear up to the application launch for the 2025 CLS Program. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you need further clarification.
Sincerely,
Caitlin
