I’m writing today because we are still in need of volunteer evaluators for the 2022 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program.

If you have already completed our interest form – thank you!! I encourage you to also share the opportunity with any colleagues who may be interested. Evaluating applications for our nationally-competed award can be a great way to demonstrate commitment to your field, and to gain insight into our selection process to benefit students on your campus.

If you have not completed the form but are interested in volunteering this year, please complete the form using the link below at your earliest convenience. More information about the reading process and our timeline is provided in this form. Please click through to read more, and then be in touch if you have further questions.

The application for our 2022 Program is open through November 16, 2021 at 8pm Eastern time. Please share this opportunity with your students! More information is available on our web site: https://clscholarship.org/apply

The CLS Program, a program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is part of a U.S. government initiative to expand the number of Americans studying and mastering foreign languages that are critical to national security and economic prosperity. CLS plays an important role in preparing American students for the 21st century’s globalized workforce and increasing national competitiveness.

Please let me know if you have any questions about evaluating applications or about this survey. We thank you for your consideration!

Best wishes,

Natalie Spencer
