Languages and Levels

Arabic

Arabic is spoken by nearly 300 million people worldwide and is an official language in over 20 different countries as well as the United Nations, playing a key role in global communications and international affairs.

CLS Spark provides students with a foundation in Arabic language and letters, preparing them to continue their studies in the language through additional coursework or study abroad.

CLS Spark Arabic will be offered by the TAFL (Teaching Arabic as Foreign Language) Center at Alexandria University in Alexandria, Egypt.

Chinese

Mandarin Chinese is the common language of economies all over the world in locations such as Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and of course China. Many Americans are learning Chinese in order to engage in the global marketplace and pursue international careers in diverse fields such as archaeology, finance, sociology, medicine, and more.

Students who already have some experience learning Chinese can continue their studies with CLS Spark.

CLS Spark Chinese will be offered by Dalian University of Technology in Dalian, China and Tamkang University in New Taipei City, Taiwan.

Russian

The Russian language is spoken by over a hundred million citizens of the Russian Federation, as well as a common language in much of the former Soviet Union, spoken as a first or second language by people in the Caucasus, Central Asia and Eastern Europe, from Ukraine to Georgia and Kazakhstan.

CLS Spark Russian will be offered by the American University of Central Asia in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
